About me

I'm Jenni.

I am a retired family medicine physician from the United States, a mother of four, a grandmother, a certified postpartum doula, and a certified lactation consultant. I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to supporting families during the early weeks and months with a new baby. I spent most of my medical career in urgent care and primary care, with one of my most meaningful roles serving as a student health physician at Michigan State University. I have always loved caring for people and helping them feel supported, informed, and at ease. During the pandemic, I moved from Michigan to Chicago to help care for my daughter's baby. Spending those early years closely supporting both mother and child helped lead me to this next chapter of work. After retiring from medicine, I trained as a postpartum doula and lactation consultant so I could continue doing what I love most: nurturing families. Today, I bring together decades of medical knowledge, years of parenting and grandparenting, and specialized postpartum training to offer calm, capable, compassionate support. Many families do not have a grandmother or extended family nearby, and with so much information available online, new parenthood can quickly feel overwhelming. Having an experienced doula in your home can make all the difference. I am a native English speaker and also speak early intermediate Dutch. I am proud to provide welcoming, inclusive support to families of all kinds. My approach is warm, practical, and highly attentive. My goal is to help parents feel more confident, more rested, and more supported as they settle into life with their baby.
